Akhilesh Yadav’s favorite DGP Mukul Goyal was ‘out’ by the Yogi government

Mukul Goyal, who returned to UP after about five years from central deputation, could not keep pace with the moves of CM Yogi. Lucknow: Taking a big action, the Yogi government has removed DGP Mukul Goel, who took over the reins of Uttar Pradesh Police in June last year. Keeping an eye on the functioning of CM Yogi Adityanath, working day and night, news of the smallest incident and the action taken on it, these were some of the things that Mukul Goyal could not keep pace with.
This also became the biggest reason for his removal. Along with this, reasons like disregard for official and departmental work and not paying attention to policing became the reason for his removal from the post.

But Mukul Goyal, who returned to UP after about five years from central deputation, could not keep pace with the moves of CM Yogi Adityanath.
At the same time, being close to his predecessor SP government, Akhilesh’s tweet in his favor after his deployment also made him uncomfortable among the Yogi government. Along with this there were some other cases, due to which Mukul was removed.
Ever since the deployment, he was constantly seen on the backfoot.
When DGP Mukul Goyal inspected Hazratganj, the most prominent Kotwali of Lucknow, after assuming charge, his visit was very much discussed that day. After inspecting the Kotwali, he announced the removal of Inspector Hazratganj Shyam Babu Shukla, finding him careless. The DGP Headquarters also issued a press note in this regard.
However, when Inspector Hazratganj was not removed even after the statement of the DGP and the press note of the headquarters, it became a topic of discussion in the entire state. After this, CM Yogi also instructed in the law and order meeting that no inspector would be posted anywhere at the behest of DGP headquarters or CM office.
Inaction also visible in Lakhimpur violence case
DGP Mukul Goel showed inaction even after the violence at Tikunia in Lakhimpur district in October last year. As the law and order situation deteriorated in Lakhimpur as well as in other districts, ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar himself came forward and took the lead. He also camped in the district for 2 days. But Mukul neither went to Lakhimpur nor was seen policing anywhere else.
Was absent in last 2 meetings with CM Yogi
During the last one month, the absence of the DGP was also the subject of much discussion in the two major meetings held by CM Yogi here. This was also seen against the DGP. One of the major reasons behind this was that even after major incidents of crime, the way they were expected to act or reach the spot, they were not living up to it. It was only after these two meetings that the discussions about the departure of the DGP intensified.
Calls made to officers a day before counting of votes
It is also discussed that the phone calls made to some officers a day before the counting of votes for the assembly elections are also a big reason for the removal of the DGP. ADG LO was made in the Mukul SP government when West UP was burning in the fire of Muzaffarnagar riots. For about one and a half years, he remained on the post of ADG LO. However, later the SP government removed him and made Daljit Chaudhary ADG LO.
Discussions of closeness with SP also got heavy
In fact, during the election, the names of about a dozen police officers came in the discussion about the fact that they are in touch with the SP chief and his close friends. Most of these officers were even put on the sidelines after the government came to power again.
