UP Nagar Nikay Chunav 2023: In the upcoming municipal elections (UP Nikay Chunav), Shaista Parveen (Shaista Parveen), wife of mafia Atiq Ahmed, was allegedly involved in the discussion of cutting the name of the mayoral candidate from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Ashok Gautam, the chief convenor of the Prayagraj Mandal of the Beach Party, said on Tuesday that Shaista Parveen was never declared the mayor’s candidate by the BSP.
Gautam told that Shaista Parveen was included in the party and at that time there was not a single criminal case against her. But no announcement was made to be the candidate for the post of Mayor. He said, “As of today, when the police are not able to find them, from where will we find them and say that you go and contest the elections.”
Gautam told that in the divisional level meeting held here on Tuesday, it was decided that Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on coming April 14 will now be celebrated at Nagar Panchayat, Municipality and Municipal Corporation level, which was earlier celebrated at divisional level. He said that apart from this, in the meeting, such workers were asked to apply to the District President who want to contest the election of Councillor, Municipality President or Mayor. After receiving the applications, the names will be considered and presented to (BSP supremo) sister Mayawati for final approval.
