The actress further said, ‘I am confident in myself and I know very well how I look. I don’t care if my wrinkles are visible, because I know that’s the way I am. I am an actress. As an actress, it is very difficult to tolerate such things. This has been the biggest challenge for me. From the beginning I wanted people to see my skills and not my looks. From the film ‘Refugee’ till today, there has been a desire to prove herself as an actress, but now it is not so. This is because in the industry people look at looks and not talent.

Talking about Kareena Kapoor’s work front, the actress will be seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham-3’. The actress recently made her OTT debut with the film ‘Jaane Jaan’ directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Kareena worked with Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Verma in this film. Apart from this, Kareena will also be seen in the film ‘The Crew’. Tabu, Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon will be seen sharing the screen with Kareena in ‘The Crew’.

In a new interview, Kareena said that being a good actor and a big star goes ‘hand in glove’. She told Film Companion, “If you are great, talented, and people have liked you, connected with you, stardom will follow. It is not like, ‘Oh he has got six-pack abs, he is looking so hot, he is a big star.’ Arree please yaar! Sometimes, I feel like telling those actors, ‘Please wear your T-shirt first. I can’t even look at you.’”

The actor added that times have changed since when her grandfather Raj Kapoor, uncle Rishi Kapoor and father Randhir Kapoor were actively working in the industry. “Now, if you are a good actor, you are going to survive a long time,” said Kareena.

But some naysayers told Kareena that she should not have done the film. The actor shared, “Someone who saw Jaane Jaan was like, ‘Arre why did you do such a dark film?’ People have come up to me and said, ‘We are used to seeing you…’ They want that. I am just like, ‘I don’t even want to talk to you. Why did you even watch it?’ They just believe that this is her image. They have built this image about me that she has to do certain kinds of roles.”
