Azamgarh. Even though the government claims to provide better health facilities in government hospitals, in reality the system of government hospitals is proving to be a mess. The video of the district hospital is going viral, in which when a stretcher is not available, a attendant is carrying his patient in his lap and wandering in the hospital to see the doctor. This video which went viral on social media is exposing the better health arrangements of the district hospital.

The video that went viral on social media is said to be two-three days old. Maina Devi, a resident of a tall warehouse in Rani Ki Sarai police station area, had some problem in her leg. Her son and husband took her to the district hospital. With the available resources, they reached the gate of the district hospital, but a stretcher was not available from the gate to take the patient to the doctor.

Whereas the government has strict instructions that stretcher facility should be provided to every patient coming to the hospital. There are also instructions to ensure arrangement of stretchers for patients coming to the hospital near the gate. Even after this, the non-availability of stretcher to Maina Devi, who reached the hospital for treatment, exposes the hospital’s claim of better health system.

CMO Dr. IN Tiwari said that stretchers are available in sufficient numbers in the district hospital. I myself have checked this arrangement several times and have given instructions to keep a stretcher near the emergency. Even after this, the video that has surfaced of the patient being carried in his lap when a stretcher was not available will be investigated and action will be taken against the culprits.

In Azamgarh district, a young man had to take his elderly mother in his lap to the hospital on foot, 2 km away. He did not get a stretcher even in the hospital. This incident was captured on video and went viral on social media. Due to the poor financial condition of the young man, the auto driver did not let him sit and he was not even helped in the hospital.

All the people present there kept watching the son doing this but no one came forward to help him.

The doctors in the hospital also appeared quite heartless. The elderly woman was not even given a stretcher in the hospital. Her son kept roaming around with his elderly mother in his lap, whose video has created a stir in the health department after going viral.

Let us tell you that Meena’s wife Dukhran, an elderly woman living in a high warehouse of Sidhari police station area, had suffered a leg injury a few days ago. Due to poor financial condition of the family, the woman could not be treated properly and her leg started rotting. After this his condition started deteriorating.

Son Ravi left home to take his mother to the hospital but due to lack of money the auto driver was not ready to take him. After this, he picked up his mother in his lap to take her to the hospital and reached the hospital on foot.

The victim’s family members said

When the young man was asked about this matter, he told that his financial condition is bad. He doesn’t even have a mobile phone. Due to this he could not even call an ambulance. When he asked people for help, no one helped him, so he was forced to bring his sick elderly mother to the hospital on foot.

In this matter, CMO Indra Narayan Tiwari said that there are sufficient quantity of stretchers in the hospital and clear instructions have been given that they should be made available immediately to any patient who requires it. Despite this, if such negligence has taken place then investigation will be done and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
