The biggest question that arose about this scheme was what the soldiers would do after their retirement. After 4 years 25% will be put in permanent service but what will be the future of remaining 75%? In response to this question, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had told that many ministries and state governments have expressed their desire that the youth who have served Agniveer in the recruitment of ministries or corporations there will be given preference.


At the same time, regarding ‘Agneepath’, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to give preference to Agniveers in the recruitment of CAPFs and Assam Rifles after their retirement.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of the important state of the country, has said that the UP government will give priority to the youth who have served Agniveer in the police and other services.


MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has also said that youth will get priority in the recruitment of state police.

The eligibility for appointment to the Agneepath scheme will be the same as for other recruitments. The qualification for this will be 10th pass. The physical standard of the candidates will be observed and selection will be done on the basis of physical efficiency test.


What will be the age to apply for Agnipath Scheme?


At present, the average age of soldiers in the armed forces is 32 years. This scheme has been made for the purpose of bringing more youth in the armies, to become Agniveer, the age of the candidate should be between 17 and a half years to 21 years.


What will be the salary / facilities if you get a job in Agneepath Yojana?


Under this scheme, every year 45 thousand youth will be recruited in the army. Selected youth should be known by the name Agniveer. They will be given basic military training for 6 months. The monthly salary of Agniveers will be 30 thousand to 40 thousand rupees. Agniveers will get the same facilities as the permanent soldiers of the three services. They will also be given an insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh.


Under the Agnipath scheme, Indian youth will be given an opportunity to serve in the army as ‘Agniveer’. Giving information about this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that today the Cabinet Committee on Security has taken this historic decision in the direction of making the Indian Army the best army in the world.

Many facilities will be given by the government to those serving the army as Agniveers, but it has been clearly said that Agniveers will not have the right to pension, like the soldiers who retire after joining the army. This is because Agniveer will serve in the army only for 4 years. After this, many doors will open for them in future.


how much package will you get


First year: The one who joins the army as Agniveer will get salary for 4 years. This will be part of the package and customized package will be available on monthly basis for the first year. According to this, there will be a salary of 30 thousand rupees every month in the first year, out of which 21,000 rupees will be cash in hand. The remaining 9 thousand rupees will go to Agniveer Corpus Fund on behalf of Agniveer. This is 30 percent of the salary. And only this (Rs 9,000) will be put in this fund by the Government of India.


Second year: In the second year, the monthly salary will increase to Rs 33,000. Out of this, Rs 9,900 will go to the fund and the government will also contribute the same amount. Now the cash in hand will increase to Rs 23,100.
Third year: Salary will increase in the third year as well. Now the monthly package will be Rs 36,500, while the cash in hand will be Rs 25,580. Now every month Rs 10,950 will have to be deposited in “Agniveer Corpus Fund”.

The government will also put the same amount every month.


Fourth year: Salary will increase to Rs 40,000 in the fourth year. Cash in hand will be Rs 28,000, while Rs 12,000 will go to Agniveer in the fund and the government will also contribute the same amount.
Calculation after four years


After the completion of four years, an Agniveer will deposit Rs 5.02 lakh in the “Agniveer Corpus Fund” and the same amount will have been put in by the government. If this is added, then he will get Rs 11.71 lakh as retirement. This will also include the interest that would have been applicable during that time.


The payment of retirement package will be a lump sum. According to the information given by the Ministry of Defense, no tax will be charged on this package. Agniveer will serve for 4 years and will not be entitled to gratuity and pension on his exit.


Insurance and Disability Compensation


48 lakh non-contributory life insurance cover will also be given to those who have served as Agniveer in the army. Apart from this, in case of death during military service, an additional ex-gratia of Rs 44 lakh will also be available. Disability compensation has also been kept for firefighters, but it will depend on the level of disability. Under this, a provision has been made to give a lump sum of Rs 44, 25 and 15 lakhs respectively on the basis of 75, 50 and 25 percent disability.
