Prayagraj Surgeon Conference 2023: Medical science moving towards robotic surgery

Well-known surgeons of the country who came to participate in the ongoing UPMASICON (Association of Surgeons India Central UP Chapter Conference) First UPMASICON-2023, held at Allahabad Medical Association’s conference hall, shared their experiences. Along with this, the junior doctors participating in the conference were informed about the new method of surgery. Around 800 participants participated in the conference and shared their experiences.

Robotic surgery was mainly discussed in the event. After laser and laparoscopy surgery, robotic surgery was given special information in the field of surgery. Organizing Secretary of the program Dr. Vaibhav Srivastava said that new research and experiments are being done everyday in the field of medicine. In this episode, a new method of robotic surgery has been invented, which is proving to be very effective.

Till now we were doing surgery by laparoscopic and laser method, but keeping in view the demand of time, now we are moving towards robotic surgery.

It is our endeavor to provide maximum convenience to patients by coordinating basic surgery and new method robotic surgery. Junior doctors were told to cover the topics of basic surgery as well as use the new method as the coming time is of new technology. We have to move with the times and keep the traditional method as well.

Discussion on the method of removing thyroid without tearing

Dr. Prabal Niyogi, Professor of Surgery, Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, told that junior doctors were explained in detail about the new method of surgery in the conference. In-depth information was given on topics like how stitches are applied and how tubes are joined. The method of removing thyroid without tearing was also explained. About 800 participants took part here.

Not only from UP and Uttarakhand, students from renowned medical institutes of the country participated and took advantage of the experiences of the Senior Consultant. Those who were told about new technology robotic surgery after laparoscopy and laser method. Brainstorming was also held on what new methods have come in the field of surgical and what should be new.

surgical removal of obesity

Dr. Awadhesh Kumar of Sanjay Gandhi PGI informed about obesity surgery. It is a new medical method. Obesity surgery is being done by binocular method. Obesity has become a common disease at this time. This disease has become common due to sedentary lifestyle and lack of hard work, which increases the risk of many diseases. A new method of surgery has been invented to remove obesity. So far, about 25 people have been successfully operated for obesity within five years. It doesn’t have any side effects either.

Why robotic surgery is done

Surgeons using the robotic system find that for many procedures it increases accuracy, flexibility and control during the operation and allows them to better visualize the site compared to traditional techniques. Using robotic surgery, surgeons can perform delicate and complex procedures that would be difficult or impossible with other methods.

Often, robotic surgery makes minimally invasive surgery possible. Benefits of minimally invasive surgery include:

fewer complications, such as surgical site infection
less pain and blood loss
shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery
smaller, less noticeable scars

risk

Robotic surgery involves risks, some of which may be similar to the risks of traditional open surgery, such as a smaller risk of infection and other complications.
