District Judge Abdul Shahid, Chief Justice of Family Court Sureshchandra Arya, Legal Services Authority Secretary ADJ Neeraj Baranwal, Additional District Judge Sumit Panwar and other judicial officers witnessed the unique union.

A 90-year-old groom and an 86-year-old bride, after living separately for almost a year, reunited in the family court on Saturday with the Constitution as witness. The court made a compromise between the two and reunited them.

District Judge Abdul Shahid, Chief Justice of Family Court Sureshchandra Arya, Legal Services Authority Secretary ADJ Neeraj Baranwal, Additional District Judge Sumit Panwar and other judicial officers witnessed the unique union.

The elderly couple, putting aside all their grievances, garlanded each other in front of everyone and resolved to live together again. Said, there is no separation between them. Just a year ago, due to greed for property, the sons had separated the two. Both of them expressed their feelings in the court and transferred half the property to their two sons.

Shivprasad Pathak of Kishunganj, Pathak’s village in Kandhai police station area, and his wife Prabhu Devi, both were living separately for the last one year. In 2010, Shivprasad Pathak, who had retired from the post of supervisor of the Public Works Department, was separated from his wife by his sons over the division of property. Not only this, the younger son, who was keeping the mother with him, had also filed a case on behalf of the mother against the father under Section 25 to pay compensation.
