It was reported that the flight had not been permitted by the air traffic controller.


Six planes arrived, four went back


Flights from Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Lucknow landed at the airport on Wednesday. Out of these, flights to Delhi and Bengaluru could not return. A total of 665 passengers arrived and 386 passengers departed. No Alliance Air flights were operated. The flight to Dehradun remained cancelled, while the flight to Mumbai reached Prayagraj late by two and a half hours, and the flight to Bengaluru by three hours.

Prayagraj Airport (IATA: IXD, ICAO: VEAB), also known as Allahabad Airport, is the domestic airport serving the city of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, India. Located in the Bamrauli suburb of the city, it is one of the oldest airports in India.

The terminal is 6700 square meters; It has a capacity of 300 passengers at peak hours and has four aircraft parking bays for the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.


The building has an electrically operated trolley gate on the link taxi track to separate the operational area of the Airports Authority of India and the Indian Air Force. Fly ash bricks have been used; The double insulated door and building is equipped with water harvesting and has its own sewage treatment plant.


In view of Kumbh 2019, the airport was upgraded in 2018 with a new civil terminal expansion, which was constructed by Tata Projects Group in a record 11 months.[7] The airport serves domestic destinations across the country. continues to operate, and is set to be converted into an international airport before Kumbh 2025.
