JNU clash: JNUSU, ABVP take out separate protest marches
New Delhi: The JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Sunday took out separate marches inside the university campus to protest the clash between the two sides. Serving non-vegetarian food in hostel mess. JNUSU has alleged that ABVP members prevented students from eating non-vegetarian food in the hostel mess and created a violent atmosphere. For the demonstration, the students gathered at Sabarmati Dhaba and raised slogans. JNUSU took out a march inside the campus and then went to the Vasant Kunj police station demanding the arrest of those responsible for the alleged attack. Beating Dhapali, the students marched inside the campus and raised slogans against the ABVP.
He also shared videos of “ABVP workers” purportedly attacking students with vipers and sticks. Another purported video showed “ABVP workers” raising slogans of Jai Shri Ram and creating a ruckus inside the Kaveri hostel, which is the epicenter of the tussle.
The third video shows some students attacking a supplier who had gone to the mess to supply chicken. In this matter, the DCP says that appropriate action will be taken after receiving the complaint. Then the left wing students came in favor of the meat supplier and they started demanding non-vegetarian food in the mess. Actually today is Sunday and on this day both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food has been prepared in the mess.
The debate between the right and left wing students about this matter increased so much that it turned into a bloody conflict. Some students present there intervened and pacified the matter and separated the two groups. Meanwhile, the meat supplier went back with the meat. The students of the left group say that when both veg and non-veg are made in the menu of hostel mess on Sunday, then why both things will not be made. On the other hand, right-wing students allege that when Navratri is being worshiped in the hostel for the last nine days and today is Ram Navami, then how can non-vegetarian food be prepared here.
