Curd in uric acid: The problem of uric acid is actually due to high protein and fat foods which increase the level of purine in the body. This increases uric acid. In such a situation, these purines get deposited around the bones and cause the problem of gout. In such a situation, the question often arises that after all the inclusion of which things in the diet can increase or decrease uric acid. One such thing is curd. But the question is, how beneficial is the consumption of curd in increasing uric acid.
Curd should be eaten in uric acid- Curd in high uric acid?
Dr. Aman Aditya Pandey explains that curd is not harmful in the problem of uric acid. Even though people may think that consumption of curd is increasing uric acid, then it is not completely true. Uric acid is formed by the natural processes of digestion of food and breakdown of body cells. Some foods contain a natural substance called purine. When the body digests purines, uric acid is formed. Kidney also removes most of the uric acid from the blood out of the body through urine. But if this uric acid starts forming in excess, then the kidney is not able to remove it. In such a situation, the level of uric acid in the blood increases.
If too much uric acid starts accumulating in the body, it is called hyperuricemia. Rather, it is not harmful if you consume sour curd which is high in Vitamin C. On the contrary, it increases the metabolic rate in the body, corrects the digestive system and promotes digestive enzymes that digest purine. This does not increase uric acid and you can stay away from this problem. Due to the increase in the level of uric acid in the blood, there is stiffness in the hands and feet and there is difficulty in getting up and sitting.
There is also swelling and unbearable pain in the fingers. Due to the increase of uric acid in the body, diseases like arthritis, rheumatism, gout etc. occur. Also, if there is a complaint of lumps in the joints. Increasing uric acid causes diseases like blood pressure, thyroid and diabetes.
How to eat curd in uric acid
Consumption of curd can be very beneficial in uric acid. It actually boosts Vitamin C in the body and its anti-inflammatory properties help in relieving pain. However, if you feel that this problem may bother you, then keep in mind that you should consume curd made from cow’s milk. Try adding salt to curd and eating it. Curd should be low fat and sour in it which will promote gut bacteria and boost metabolism.
