A Syrian rebel world famous for “taking down more than 140 Assad tanks” volunteered to fight in Ukraine.
Suhail al-Hammud, also known as ‘Abu Toh’, is said to have shot down several of the Syrian president’s tanks with ‘American anti-tank missiles’.
He is a Free Syrian Army insurgent known for his prowess in operating the BGM-71 Tau anti-tank missile during the Syrian Civil War.
On Saturday (February 25), the famous rebel wrote on Twitter: “How can I go to Ukraine and fight with the Ukrainian army. Is there any way for me to prepare.”
Like Abu Tow, there are many Islamic extremists in Syria who want to join the Ukrainian army to fight Russia. They come for many reasons. Currently, these people are trying to contact Ukrainian diplomatic missions to go to Ukraine and register to participate in the war.
Jalensky announced today that 16,000 “foreign volunteers” are present in Ukraine, ready to fight alongside the Ukrainian military against the Russian army.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that not all foreign merchants fighting in Ukraine would be entitled to a Geneva prisoner of war situation.
