Shahida – I have killed my child to sacrifice on Allah.
The control room received a phone call from a Khatoon Shahida Bi from police support number 112 in Palakkad, the parliamentary constituency of Para, at around 3 am on Sunday. He told the police that I sacrificed my 6 year old son Amil because Alla loves to sacrifice!
When the police team reached his house, blood-stained Shahida was waiting for him standing at the gate. The police entered the house and found a 6-year-old child dead, with his throat slit in the bathroom. Shahida’s Sauhar Suleman and two other children were sleeping in another room, unaware of the sacrifice.
The 30-year-old Shahida, who committed this heinous act in God’s own country, reportedly the most educated in the country, is a madrasa teacher and three months pregnant. His Sauhar Suleman earlier worked in the Gulf country and now drives an auto-rickshaw in Palakkad.
The police did not pay any respect to Shahida’s martyrdom and registered a case under section 302. According to the FIR written at Dakshin Palakkad police station, the mother gave a confessional statement that I have killed my child to sacrifice on Alla. First, both the legs of the child were tied so that the throat was not obstructed.
